To start a Quick scan, proceed through the following steps:
- With the Command Prompt, type the first letters of the adawareCommandLine.exe file name (for example, "ad"), and then press the Tab key or type the full name.

1. Double-click the adaware antivirus icon on your desktop or the tray application in the system tray to launch adaware antivirus.

To start a Custom scan, proceed through the following steps:
- With the Command Prompt, type the first letters of the adawareCommandLine.exe file name (for example, "ad"), and then press the Tab key or type the full name.
- Type " --custom" and a path of the folder/file, including the folder/file name that you want to scan, and press ENTER.
To scan the drive, the argument shall be indicated as follows: "C:\\".
To scan a folder, the argument shall be indicated as follows: "C:\folder name".
To scan a file, the argument shall be indicated as follows: "C:\folder name\file name".
