Ad aware PROBLEMS
1st I am computer savvy....
Installed free version
Cannot find it in control panel or IOBIT uninstaller
Its pinned to my task bar and it will let me click top open,but will not let me exit or close
I tried to delete entire file from C drive and it wont let me because program is open...but I cannot close it
I tried to reinstall,so perhaps it would install correctly and I get an error message that I cannot install it

Have you restarted the computer after the installation of Ad-Aware?
That's necessary.
Ad-Aware icon should be visible in "system tray"/"notification area" (name depends on Windows version), which is the area with the clock. It should be possible to right-click the icon and get a menu.
It's impossible to uninstall Ad-Aware by deleting its folder, it must be uninstalled using its own uninstaller.
Please, collect logs and other information by following the instructions in http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/33638-collect-logs-for-troubleshooting/ to let Lavasoft investigate your issue.0 -
Its like its not even installed though.Why would I not be able to find it on add/remove programs??? Why will it not let me exit program from system tray??

I did the system information file-NOT ALLOWED TO UPLOAD THIS TYPE OF FILE
Lordy jesus I just want this program off my computer.Even a system restore is saying its being blocked by...AD AWARE!!!

Are you sure that you zipped C:\ProgramData\Lavasoft\ and not C:\Program Files\Lavasoft?
That is most common reason when getting a folder that is too large.
Lavasoft doesn't want your whole Temp folder, only the MSI files created at the same time as the Ad-Aware installation.

Right click/Send to/compressed folder...yes.It is RARed up and is 19.6MB

I can see that you have Avast installed. When another antivirus program is installed, Ad-Aware is installed in compatible mode without real-time protection and can only be used to scan the computer. Is this what you want?
How large is the zip file if you only zip the "Logs" folder inside C:\ProgramData\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 11?

Why would it be in the system tray and not even an option to "exit"??? Every other icon/program will instantly let me exit the program.TBH I feel like this program has hijacked my computer.

I just want it gone,I have NEVER had a problem with any program I have installed.
If its not on my add/remove programs,where is it???? If IOBIT cant pick it up as installed,where is it???
I JUST WANT IT GONE ASAP.
I ,at one time had every virus/adware/malware program uninstalled but this one still wont..well not that it wont uninstall,I have no option to uninstall...I literally am about to reinstall windows and tell every person I know to never install anything from lavasoft again.

I'm sorry, but if Lavasoft shall be able to give you a special program to make Ad-Aware listed in Control Panel for uninstallation, they need more information. They need the log files.
I guess you never have installed an antivirus program when you already have an antivirus and an anti-spyware program installed. It's very common with conflicts between the programs, e.g. unsuccessful installation, it doesn't matter if installing Ad-Aware when Avast and Spybot S&D are installed, installing AVG when Avast is installed or installing Avast when Ad-Aware is installed.0 -

Lavasoft needs both information about your computer, e.g. Windows version and what parts of Ad-Aware that is running, but they also needs information that Ad-Aware has collected with e.g. errors that have occurred. The first type is the file you uploaded before.
Are you using any file sharing service, e.g. OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox?
You can upload the large file there and give us the link to it.
If you aren't using any such service, you can upload it on https://sprend.com/ but then you have to send me the link to the file in a PM since it can only be downloaded once, and if you enter in a reply here someone else can download it.0 -

Lavasoft has checked the file you uploaded on Sprend and it contains the C:\Program Files\Lavasoft folder and not C:\ProgramData\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 11. Please, read http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/33638-collect-logs-for-troubleshooting/ again and compress the right folder.

I followed every step to the letter,the file is even named ad aware 11...what else can I do?I seriously am about to throw my laptop out the window.

Yes, you did exactly the same thing now as before, it's still Program Files and not ProgramData. Have you configured Windows Explorer to show hidden files and folders?

Please, find the folder C:\ProgramData\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 11.-DID IT
Right-click the folder name and select Send to - Compressed folder.-DID IT
A new zip file, called Ad-Aware 11.zip, will be created.DID IT
