    Hi apachefriendsuser,

Maybe a temporary problem with a server.

Sorry, I can't do anything about it and I can't reach my contact person at adaware software (Lavasoft) during the weekend.

Since you have paid for adaware, you can contact their support team (but they are overloaded).

Why wouldn't they be overloaded. This product has nothing but problems, from what I can see. And I did contact their support team. Four days ago. But thanks for the reply.

I just replied in another topic where the problem was that the scan time couldn't be set to 6 am, so adaware seems to work pretty well in many computers.

But I'll ask my contact person at adaware on Monday.

Okay, I have now done what the idiots at Ad-Aware suggested and this is where I'm at:

How 'bout just giving me my money back and letting me buy a product that works?

    This program makes me sick.

Lots of people have different issues - my peeve is the fact that I can't take their sales blurb out of every email I send or receive. Another is that it determines what is spam and removes content without giving me a chance to review what it has done. Add to that the general uncertainty as to whether or not it's actually protecting me... but foremost, is this popup problem at the moment.

Customer support can help you to get a refund, I think it's also possible to get in contact with them on Twitter and Facebook (at least that was possible two years ago).

Please, try to repair adaware antivirus in Control Panel's list of installed programs by first selecting Change and the Repair. Restart the computer afterwards.

If that doesn't help, please collect logs and other information by following the instructions in http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/34799-how-to-report-a-problem/ to let adaware software (Lavasoft) investigate your problem.

I removed it again, and downloaded it again. And tried to install it again. ERROR: Couldn't create process. The other zipfile is 96mbs. There are no Msi files.system info.zip

No, I'm not into that. I don't trust them as far as I can throw them, and since they are a faceless, mysterious web presence - unaccountable and non-contactable that won't be happening. They are inexcusably negligent in providing even a modicum of email support. And, of course, there's no telephone support. I have done as they suggest numerous times. Each and every time I get the same result: "cannot create process." Currently I am (maybe) operating with some form of protection but no email, web or network protection. Log files aren't being created and folders described in their documentation don't exist. This company should be dissolved. And, of course, they're keeping my money.

Lavasoft asks if you allow them to connect to your computer to try to solve the problem. You'll see everything they do, and you'll be able to stop them and communicate with them. If you accept it, please send me your email address in a PM. Lavasoft will respond in another PM and later on send you a file by email.

All I want is for the popup which jumps up every half hour or so telling me that I NEED TO UPDATE NOW would stop. How much more annoying can a company be? It doesn't work and it pops up ENDLESSLY reminding me of the fact, stealing the focus of my computer each and every time.

It's rather difficult to help you, when we don't know what is running in your computer and blocks something. Common sources of problems are Malwarebytes' products, IObit's products, left-overs of uninstalled antivirus and anti-malware programs (including Ad-Aware 10), firewalls etc. and registry cleaners that have "cleaned" too much.

With i quick look in your system information file, I can see Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, left-overs of Ad-Aware 10 and a registry cleaner.

Can you accept to send me some information what's going on in your computer?

    If yes:

Please, download Farbar Recovery Scan Tool (FRST) and save it on the desktop: http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/farbar/FRST64.exe

    Start the FRST program.

Read the disclaimer and click Yes to accept it.
    Click Scan button.
When done, FRST will create two log files, called FRST.txt and Addition.txt, on the desktop.

Please, attach them to your reply (press More Reply Options button to see how to attach files).

Okay, I removed Malwarebytes, removed Ad-Aware, then did all of the hoopjumping. I rebooted, downloaded the standalone installer and installed. I rebooted, etc. It appears to be working. I sent you that system file 8 days ago. If you had given it "i quick look" 8 days ago I'd have been saved 8 days of grief. At least it's working now, apparently... It's doing the recommended scan. I will report back after it's done.

I hope that it's still working for you!

Sorry, but as a volunteer here it isn't my job to read Ad-Aware log files, Lavasoft should do that. I understand the FRST log files much better.

Okay, so, now the only issue is the one that was bugging me the most from the getgo, except it's worse now. Every email I send or receive used to say:

"This email is free from viruses and malware because Ad-Aware Email Protection is active." which is inexcusable spamming on the part of Ad-Aware and almost enough reason not to use it.

    BUT NOW: they all say:

    https://jump.adaware.com/redirect.php?LID=LID016&userflow=features&culture=en&utm_source=app0004&utm_medium=med0001&utm_campaign=cam00001&time=73&product_version=AdAwarePro&InstallDate=&mvt-inter=StandAloneInstaller&IGUID=13792AC1-76B5-4BA4-8789-C3B2F54F3E67&version=12.0.649.11190

    This is not acceptable.

I'll discuss that with adaware software (Lavasoft) on Monday.

    Hello,

which email client do you use(and which version) and which adaware version do you have?

Eudora 6.1.2.0. Ad-Aware hard to say because the contol window won't open. The latest one.

    It should be like this:

"This email is free from viruses and malware because adaware email protection is active."

where "adaware email protection" is a complex link to the web site.

Depending on the email program and its configuration, you might or might not see the URL of the link.

If you don't see the text, please make a test email and then upload its source code to the forum.

    ---------------------------------------

Since you think that adaware is spamming your emails, I checked some emails I've got from a person with Avast and those emails ends with the following HTML code:

    <td style=3D"width:55px;padding-top:18px"><a href=3D"https://www.avas=
    t.com/sig-email?utm_medium=3Demail&utm_source=3Dlink&utm_campaign=
    =3Dsig-email&utm_content=3Dwebmail" target=3D"_blank"><img src=3D"https=
    ://ipmcdn.avast.com/images/icons/icon-envelope-tick-round-orange-animated-n=
    o-repeat-v1.gif" width=3D"46" height=3D"29" style=3D"width: 46px; height: 2=
    9px;"></a></td>
    <td style=3D"width:470px;padding-top:17px;color:#41424e;font-size:13px;fo=
    nt-family:Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;line-height:18px">Free from Virus. <a href=
    =3D"https://www.avast.com/sig-email?utm_medium=3Demail&utm_source=3Dlin=
    k&utm_campaign=3Dsig-email&utm_content=3Dwebmail" target=3D"_blank"=
    style=3D"color:#4453ea">www.avast.com</a> </td>

The first link is hidden by behind a small picture of an envelope and the second behind the text "www.avast.com".
