Update AdAware Now! "Reboot Required" Loop
Current version 11.4.6792.0
Failed to successfully install update "Adaware_Installer.exe" downloaded today via Cnet. Please help! Thank you in advance.
FYI: can't find "msixxxx" files in temp folder
Ad-aware zipped program folder is about 490MB (did not attach); will attach if needed

Hi Kalee4nya,
I have sent a PM to you with the common solution for the "Reboot Required" message.
If you still can't install Ad-Aware, note that Lavasoft needs the C:\ProgramData\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 11 folder and not C:\Program Files\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 11.http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/33638-collect-logs-for-troubleshooting/

Windows Temp folder has been purged; but "Reboot Required" message persist.
How to attach Ad-aware program folder without starting a new topic?
0 -
Sorry, maybe I misunderstand it but the "Reboot Required" message hasn't anything to do with Windows Temp folder.
You have to click the "More Reply Options" button to be able to attach files.

Wanted to uninstall and re-install Ad-aware via Control Panel > Program and Features, but failed with error message "can't find file".

What do you do when you try to install the new version?

Have you followed the instruction for showing hidden folders, that's in the PM?
0 -
Yes I did.
- Close all programs so that you are at your desktop.
- Click on the Start button. This is the small round button with the Windows flag in the lower left corner.
- Click on the Control Panel menu option.
- When the control panel opens click on the Appearance and Personalization link.
- Under the Folder Options category, click on Show Hidden Files or Folders.
- Under the Hidden files and folders section select the radio button labeled Show hidden files, folders, or drives.
- Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide extensions for known file types.
- Remove the checkmark from the checkbox labeled Hide protected operating system files (Recommended).
- Press the Apply button and then the OK button..

Please, disable Malwarebytes Anti-Malware and Anti-Exploit while trying to install Ad-Aware.
Please, upload the compressed folder containing the C:\ProgramData\Lavasoft\Ad-Aware 11 folder.
If you don't have C:\ProgramData, your Windows installation is damaged and you should reinstall Windows.

I don't see the solution here. I have this reboot loop and I can not find the option to uninstall AAW
Everytime I restart the comp I get a notice that says critical update. I go through the update and it says to restart. It is the same every single time.
I tried to uninstall the program but I can not find it in the installed programs under control panel
The programs says it is version 11.1.5354.0 with license that expires 2015-03-14
running windows 8.1pro
Please help

I am definitely in the same boat. I was trying to update and now every time I go in I am receiving the message that a reboot is required. Would it be possible to get the instructions that have been working for everyone else?
