Trying to upgrade to adaware 12.....error message during un-installation which prevents installation of adaware 12. please provide updated installation link.

    Hi GDawg929,

Can you uninstall Ad-Aware yourself from Control panel's list of installed programs?

If you can't, please try to first repair Ad-Aware (select Change->Repair) and restart the computer before trying to uninstall it again.

Weird....program is not listed in the list of installed programs, but it continues to run on the task bar. When I click on the icon, program runs. How can I un-install if not listed in the installed list?

Which error message do you get during the uninstallation?

Please, collect logs and other information by following the instructions in http://www.lavasoftsupport.com/index.php?/topic/33638-collect-logs-for-troubleshooting/ to let Lavasoft investigate what's left of Ad-Aware 11 and how to remove it.

Can you upload that zip file to Dropbox, OneDrive, Google Drive or another file sharing service and then link to the file in your reply?

I am having exactly the same problem on Windows 7. Nightmare. I can't uninstall it as part of the upgrade process. I get "An error occured during uninstallation. Please try again." message. So I tried to uninstall via control panel, same essential error ocurred during uninstallation, no real detail. So I tried to repair the install.... error.

I tried submitting a ticket, but instead of actually reading my ticket where I explained the above... I got a standard "sorry it took so long, we're busy after releasing version 12, here's a stock answer about the standard uninstall process to keep you occupied and out my hair." I might be paraphrasing because I am D*mn frustrated and annoyed that having waited days for my ticket to be responded to that the support person did naff all but effectively remove my ticket from their support queue. Crap.

So what can I do now? I just want a working system. If this doesn't get sorted today I'm off to look for something else to replace Adaware... oh wait, I can't, because I can't uninstall Adaware!

Sorry GDawg for getting annoyed in the middle of your topic, but it seems you are as frustrated as me at essentially the same issue, and no one seems to care.
