Computer Very Slow After BootUp
My computer seems to be incredibly slow the last few days.
While defragging, an error page showed up which said the computer recovered form a serious error.
The scans show nothing; I have dl'ed nothing, but it seems XP is trying to access something for a long time when I boot up.
This seems to be a recurrng thing every few months, causing me to reinstall Windows.
Would anyone know what could be causing this?

submit
C:\Program Files\Netscp.exe
C:\Program Files\apdproxy.exe
to
http://www.virustotal.com/en/indexx.html
and post the results here.
Also, I notice you seem to have windows installed on E:, but you "\Program Files\" and "\Documents and Settings" on C:, why is that?

The first file I couldn't locate; the second came up with no viruses found.
As for the second question; I reinstalled XP and it made a new drive letter, and this is the way things loaded (although there is Windows on drive C also.)

There could be some connection to the not quite right installation of xp (next time you reformat, backup your files, reformat [use ntfs], and do a clean install of xp, then immediate windows updates [have sp2 ready for offline install]). One thing you could check (using the taskmanager) is what process is using the most process time when you startup.

Thanks for the reply; I think it also had to do with dwindling space on my hard drive...
