    Hi Danny,

I understand that you've been using Adaware antivirus during several years. What happened in the computer between the moment when Adaware worked and when it didn't work?

    Please:
    Uninstall Adaware antivirus.
    Restart the computer.
    Run the Removal Tool: https://www.adaware.com/removal-tool
    Restart the computer.
    Install Adaware antivirus.
    Restart the computer.

Hi Cecilia, thank you so much for replying.

What happened from when Adaware was working to when it was not working was that I had lots of malware on my computer and it was barely working. I formatted the hard drive and reinstalled Windows 7. I am ecstatic to say that my computer is flying now. I can’t believe how fast and smooth everything is working. So one of the first programs I had to re-install was Adaware, and so I did that (I downloaded Adaware 12 from the Adaware website) and the install completed and was successful, and I got the Thank You message, and when I went to run it, I got that screen that was like a badly assembled puzzle, and there was absolutely no functionality on that screen. From my system tray, I right clicked on Run Adaware Service and nothing happened, so I clicked on the desktop icon for Adaware and it loaded that jumbled screen I just mentioned, and I did this process several times and no change. It still does not work. So then I Uninstalled Adaware using Windows Removal tool, rebooted my computer, downloaded Adaware 12 again and went through all the same steps and got all the same results. Adaware still doesn’t work. So I uninstalled it again and to make a long story short, I wet through all these same step 3 or 4 times now, unistalling, reinstalling and nothing changes. The last time I uninstalled Adaware using the Adaware Removal tool that I downloaded from the Adaware site, uninstalled it one more time and then downloaded Adaware 12 once more, installed it and still the exact thing as described multiple times in this email.

I really like using Adaware as I have been using it for many years and I am comfortable with it, so I want to continue using it. BTW the version of Adaware that I was using before I reinstalled Windows 7 was a much older version, perhaps 5 or 7 or something like that.

I’ve uploaded my System Info at the start of this thread, so you can see what version of Windows I have installed on my machine (Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium – Version 6.1.7600 Build 7600).

I tried to do an update to my OS but Microsoft is telling me they don’t support Win 7 anymore so there is nothing I can do to update my OS.

I also read a thread here in this forum about installing this (Windows6.1-KB3033929-x64.msu), so I downloaded it from the Microsoft website, ran it and a screen popped up saying that my OS doesn’t need it.

I don’t know what else to say. I hope this helps you.

Once again, thank you so much for taking the time to help me.

    You're welcome

Sorry, but it's possible that your Windows misses one or several updates that are necessary to make Adaware work.

Have you checked on the web site of the computer manufacturer for newer drivers?

Windows 7 is very old and very insecure due to all known security holes. It shouldn't be connected to internet.

Adaware antivirus 7 must be 15 years old and probably hasn't received any signatures updates during the last 10 years. I'd say that it's like having no antivirus program at all.
